The story, the mission, and the people behind Solar Hands.
With a background in engineering and a solid career built over many years across multiple companies of varying scale in the energy sector, my path has been shaped by managing complex, large-scale projects. That trajectory took me to international markets of reference, in highly competitive and demanding geographies, where I absorbed global best practices in technology and efficiency. With this technical and strategic baggage, I decided to return to Portugal with a clear purpose: to apply this global vision to transform the decentralised energy landscape in my country.
I founded Solar Hands because I saw that the market needed something far beyond pure engineering: proximity, clarity, and empathy. The energy transition does not have to be complex or impersonal. Our core promise is to make solar energy truly accessible through a fully people-first approach. That means translating technical language into real savings, listening to each client's specific needs, and ensuring close, transparent support built on complete trust.
We look to the future through a strategic two-engine model: today, Solar Hands consolidates excellence and execution in physical infrastructure on the ground; from 2027, we scale the business with the launch of Carga, our digital platform. Born in Lisbon but designed to expand across borders into the European market, this duality matters to our clients today because it ensures they're investing with a solid, innovative partner prepared to lead the next decade of intelligent energy.
André Simão — CEO & Founder, Solar Hands
Solar Hands operates with two complementary engines. The first, physical and present, designs and installs, maintains and cares for solar infrastructure on our clients' rooftops and land — rigorous engineering, Portuguese hands, human proximity. The second, digital and in construction, is called Carga: the platform that turns each installation into an intelligent piece of a larger energy community.
Today, we install for you. Tomorrow, with Carga, we'll connect your installations to each other, to the grid, and to your autonomy. Born in Lisbon, with European ambition — the energy transition for all of us, built step by step.
